Callahan Earns Second-Straight Academic All-District Award


GREELEY, Colo. - For the second straight season, Northern Colorado distance runner Kellie Callahan has been named to the ESPN The Magazine District VII All-Academic Track & Field Second Team.

Callahan, a junior from Colorado Springs, earned second team honors for the second time as she has a 4.00 grade point average in nursing. Callahan most recently finished 14th in the 5000 meters at the Big Sky Conference Outdoor Championship, clocking a 19:04.73.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed at least one full semester at the current institution, be at least a sophomore academic standing, have a 3.30 cumulative or better grade point average and be a key contributer to the team. District VII is composed of schools from Colorado, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana and Wyoming.
