2009 Tom Benich Invitational

Due to impending inclement weather, the Tom Benich Track & Field Invitational scheduled for Saturday has been postponed indefinitely.

Northern Colorado officials have been watching the weather reports develop throughout the week and felt for the safety of the student-athletes and fans, it was better to postpone the meet on Friday evening.

DATE: Saturday, April 4, 2009

LOCATION: Nottingham Field, University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, CO

FORMAT: Invited Collegiate teams and open competitors are welcome. NCAA rules apply (no false starts). Fully Automatic Timing. Entries will be seeded into heats and flights based on entry marks, with the running events staged as finals (no qualifying heats).

Athletes in the running events must check-in at the Clerk's tent at least 30 minutes before the start of their race to receive a lane assignment and hip number. Athletes that fail to check-in on time will be scratched. When called, athletes will report to the starting line for final instructions. Field events check in at the event.

ENTRIES: All meet entries need to be made on-line at www.directathletics.com No faxed or e-mailed entries will be accepted. Collegiate teams may pay their entry fee on the day of the meet. Open, Unattached and Redshirts may register individually on www.directathletics.com. Individuals will be required to pay entry fees online using a credit card as part of the entry process. Individual entries are $10.00 per event.

ENTRY DEADLINE: Meet entries are due by Tuesday, March 31 at 7:00pm. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.

ENTRY FEES: $75 per team, $150 for combined men's and women's team. Individual entry fees are $10 per event.

HAMMER THROW & INVITATIONAL DISCUS: The Hammer Throw and the Invitational Section of the Discus will be contested at Colorado State University on Friday, April 3rd. The Women's Hammer will begin at 2:00pm with Men to follow.

The Invitational Discus will be limited to a field of 8 Throwers with previous best marks over 170' for men and 150' for women. Call CSU Head Coach Brian Bedard for entry into the Inv. Discus (970-491-7651) Friday, April 3 at Colorado State

OPEN DISCUS, SHOT & JAVELIN: The Shot-put, Javelin and the Open section of the Discus will be contested on Saturday, April 4 at UNC's Nottingham Field. Event management parameters for the Throws and Horizontal jumps (# attempts, prelims/finals or single round only and minimum measured marks) will be determined based on field size.
