Ben Lewis enters his first season as a volunteer assistant coach and camps coordinator for the Northern Colorado baseball program. Prior to coaching at Northern Colorado, Lewis was the Director of Baseball Operations/Team Manager for the Stanford University baseball team that advanced to the NCAA Regional in 2005. The Cardinal finished the 2005 season with a 34-25 overall record before falling at the Baylor Regional. At Stanford, Lewis assisted with all aspects of the program, including working with the program's camps. Lewis spent summer 2004 as an assistant coach with the Amsterdam Mohawks in the New York Collegiate League, helping the team to its second consecutive league championship. He assisted with the team's pitchers, helping the Mohawks staff compile a 3.07 earned run average. Lewis also served as an assistant at the Menlo School (spring 2004) and was in interim head coach for the Palo Alto Oaks (summer 2003), both of which won league titles. Lewis received his bachelor's degree in mass communication in 2004 from Menlo College, which is located in Atherton, Calif. At Menlo, Lewis was a pitcher for the Oaks team.
