Iwasaki brings signing class to seven with two additions

GREELEY, Colo. – University of Northern Colorado head baseball coach Carl Iwasaki announced the addition of two NLI signings to his first recruiting class. Iwasaki adds Jensen Park and Brooks Schneider, bringing his first signing class to seven student-athletes.

JENSEN PARK, 5-8, 150, OF, KANEHO, HAWAI’I (IOLANI)
Entering his senior season has earned two varsity letters in baseball… As a sophomore, was a first-team all-conference and second-team all state outfielder… In his junior campaign, was a second-team all-conference and third-team all-state selection… Helped lead the Raiders to the 2009 ILH Championship after hitting .464.

“Jensen is an excellent athlete in a small package,” said Iwasaki. “Jensen has the best bat speed in this recruiting class and tears up the base paths. Jensen’s aggressive approach all over the field fits in perfectly with the style of baseball we are going to play here at UNC. His versatility defensively will earn him a lot of innings next year.”

BROOKS SCHNEIDER, 6-4, 200, 3B, LONGMONT, COLO. (NORTHEASTERN JC/LONGMONT)
Graduated from Longmont High School in 2009… Was a national honor society member… Named to the 2009 first-team all-conference team.

“Brooks comes to us from one of the region’s best junior college programs in NJC,” said Iwasaki. “He is a gifted defender all over the infield and with his size and strength could be a middle of the lineup presence for the next two years. A physically imposing guy, with serious speed, there is little doubt he will come in and push everyone in the weight room and on the field. Brooks shows dedication in the classroom as well and will be a great role model for the younger guys.”
