GREELEY, Colo. – Both the Big Sky and Great West Conferences recently announced their spring All-Academic teams and the University of Northern Colorado had 30 student-athletes named to the teams in the sports of baseball, women's golf, men's and women's tennis and men's and women's outdoor track and field.
The Bears are members of the Great West Conference in baseball, where five were named to the Winter/Spring All-Academic team. To be eligible, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum cumulative 3.20 grade point average. The student-athletes also must have participated in at least 50 percent of their respective team's contests. Using the institutions' most recent GPA, the student-athletes are selected by each member institution's sports information director, with approval from the faculty athletic representative and the head coach. First-year students and JC transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
To be eligible to be named to the Big Sky All-Academic teams, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1)Participated in at least half of the team's competitions; 2)Achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at the conclusion of the most recently completed term; 3)Completed at least one academic term at his/her current Big Sky institution
