Savannah Scott's big week earned her the Big Sky Player of the Week honor
OGDEN, Utah – Junior guard Savannah Scott heads into Big Sky play next week on a hot streak, and as the Big Sky Player of the Week.
She earned the honor by having three strong performances last week averaging 20.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists. She was very efficient at getting buckets, shooting 60.6 percent from the field including hitting seven 3-pointers. This is the first time in her career that Scott has earned the Big Sky Player of the Week honor from the conference.
In UNC's three games last week, the Campbell, California native led the team in scoring twice, and scored 20 or more points twice. Against Saint Mary's, she had a career-high 27 point on 9-of-15 shooting, and grabbed five rebounds.
She followed it up with another 22 points, six rebounds, and four assists at Pacific, including an 8-0 run of her own to put the Bears in the lead that they would never give up.
Scott has been a key to the Bears 8-3 start to the year averaging 13.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists. She is second on the team shooting 48.5 percent from the field and is the top free throw shooter going 36-for-42 from the line.
Northern Colorado is now on a nine day break between games as they prepare to open Big Sky play on December 29 at 7 pm when they host Sacramento State.
