GREELEY, Colo. - The University of Northern Colorado Women's Tennis team is excited to announce the signing of Tristen Bryant-Otake for the 2017-18 season.
Bryant-Otake comes to UNC from Kailua, Hawaii where she is a four star recruit.
"We are really excited to be adding Tristen to our team," said head coach Brenda Gallegos. "Tristen is a talented player who is versatile on the court with two hands off both sides. We are happy to be adding a player who is not only talented on the court but has great work ethic and a tremendous personality."
Tristen Bryant-Otake (5'1, Kailua, Hawaii)
Bryant-Otake is playing as a senior at Mid Pacific Institute, where she will become a 4-year letter winner in tennis. As a freshman, she posted an undefeated doubles record (14-0) and was a named second team all-star for the Interscholastic League of Honolulu as a freshman, sophomore, and junior. She has helped her team make it to the Hawaii state tournament every year since entering as a freshman, earning state runner-up as a team twice. As of this week, she is currently ranked 172 in the UStA Standing and in the Babotal recruiting listings she is 209 nationally and second for the state of Hawaii.
In addition to being a tennis standout, Bryant-Otake is also known to be a strong leader, earning team captain and team MVP as a junior. Off the court, Bryant-Otake has been an annual honor roll student and plans to major in sports and exercise science at UNC.
