Strange Picks Up Fourth Player of the Week Honor

D'shara Strange earned her fourth Big Sky Player of the week and third College Sports Madness Player of the Week honors
OGDEN, Utah – The Northern Colorado women's basketball team is not only picking up wins on the court, but also earning awards for their performance. For the fourth time this year senior guard D'shara Strange (Fountain, Colo.) was named Big Sky Player of the Week. She also earned College Sports Madness Big Sky Player of the Week, her third of the season.
Strange averaged 19.0 points, 6 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.5 steals over the weekend helping the Bears extend their win streak to seven games. She had a career-high tying eight assists at Northern Arizona on top of her team leading 27 points.
In just 18 minutes of play due to injury on Thursday, Strange racked up 11 points, three assists, and four steals at Southern Utah.
UNC will finish up its regular season this Saturday at North Dakota. After that the team will compete in the eight team Big Sky Conference Tournament in Missoula, Mont. starting March 12.
The Bears currently sit in third place of the Big Sky standings, a half-game behind Sacramento State for second.Â
