Strange Named Player of the Week

D'shara Strange earned Big Sky and College Sports Madness Player of the Week

OGDEN, Utah,-- Senior D'shara Strange (Fountain, Colo.) earned a couple of weekly honors this this. She was named Player of the Week by both the Big Sky Conference and College Sports Madness. It is the third time this year Strange was named player of the week by the Big Sky, and second time by College Sports Madness.
Strange,averaged 24.0 points, 14.5 rebounds, two assists and two steals while helping the Bears complete the road sweep of Montana and Montana State. It is the first time a Big Sky school has achieved this feat since Eastern Washington in January 2012.
On Thursday against Montana State, Strange had a career game with 31 points and 17 rebounds, both career highs. It was the first time in her career breaking the 30 point mark.
Against Montana, Strange made the game winning shot with 2.6 seconds remaining to end the Griz 23 home conference game win streak. She finished the game with 17 points and 12 rebounds, leading the Bears in both categories.
Strange and her teammates will close out their home schedule this week when hosting Sacramento State in the Play 4 Kay game at 7:00 p.m.. and then have senior day on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.. when Portland State comes to town.
