- The red-hot Northern Colorado (4-2, 2-2 Big Sky) Bears are looking for an upset when #7 Eastern Washington (4-2, 3-0 Big Sky) come to town this Saturday, Oct. 24 for a 1:35 p.m. kick. For more detailed information please visit our GAMEDAY CENTRAL.

WINtober
- The Bears are currently undefeated in the month of October, picking up two Big Sky wins as well at Sac State 27-20 and UC Davis 56-27. Collins now improves to 3-9 overall in games played at home during the month.

Points For Days
- Northern Colorado put up 8 touchdowns in just 45 plays in the win over UC Davis on Oct. 17. The team scored 56 points, which is a D1 program record, breaking the previous record of 52, scored in 2012 in the Bears 52-14 win over Idaho State. The 8 touchdowns was also a program record, besting the previous record of 7, also set in 2012 in the game against the Bengals.

Establishing the Run
- Redshirt Sophomore RB Brandon Cartagena set a new career-high, rushing for 112 yards and two touchdowns. The TD runs came from 57 yards out and 1 yard out. He also added a 34-yard TD reception to finish his day. He tied the D1 record for most TDs scored in a game with 3.

Collegiate Firsts
- Redshirt freshman QB Jacob Knipp recorded his first rushing touchdown of his career against the Aggies last Saturday. After Knipp reached pay dirt the flood gates opened for the young QB as he rushed for two more TDs and threw for one, having his hand in four of the eight scores on that record setting day.

New Levels of Speed
Redshirt sophomore wide out Hakeem Deggs has now found the end zone in back-to-back games. After a 100-yard kickoff return for six against Sacramento State, Deggs followed it up with a 75-yard run for a touchdown against UC Davis.

Rub Some Dirt On It
- Redshirt freshman RB Trae Riek will return to his starting duties as the primary back on Saturday. Riek has missed the past two weeks with a concussion. The Bears also get back Sophomore DT Khairi Bailey. Bailey has missed the last three weeks with an ankle injury.

Break Ups
- Junior Safety Taylor Risner has five PBUs on the season with six games left to play. He needs just five more to tie the Division I record set in 2014 by former corner Courtney Hall, who holds the record with 10 PBUs in one season. Hall is also the career PBU record holder in Division I program history with 21.

Dropping Temps
- It will be the coldest game of the season at Nottingham, but still a perfect fall day. The high at kickoff will be 67 and sunny with a 0% chance of rain.

- The Bears have are 1-9 all-time against EWU with their one win coming at home during the 1981 season. The Eagles are currently riding a eight-game winning streak in the series.

Special Teams Becoming Special
Northern Colorado remains #1 in the FCS in kickoff returns and moved up to #4 in the nation in punt returns. Behind the combo of redshirt sophomore's Ellis Onic II and Hakeem Deggs, they average over 32 yards a return on kickoff and 20 yards on punts and have two TD returns on the season.

Junior safety Taylor Risner once again led the team in tackles last Saturday with 8. This is the third game this season that he has been the tackling leader. He now has 56 tackles (18 solo, 38 assisted) on the season, which ranks him 7th in the Big Sky.

Since taking over the starting place kicker role, Junior Jamie Falloon has been perfect on the season. He's 3-for-3 on FGs with his longest coming from 38 yards out and 13-of-13 on PATs.
