Cunningham Earns Big Sky Player of the Week

Kendra Cunningham earns Big Sky Player of the Week in volleyball.
OGDEN, Utah -- Junior outside hitter Kendra Cunningham was awarded the Big Sky Confrence Player of the Week for the first time of her career, after her preformance in the Hampton Inn & Suites Northern Colorado Classic.Â
Cunningham was named the MVP of the tournament after she helped lead the Bears to a perfect 3-0 weekend. Northern Colorado defeated Hampton on Firday night of the tournament 3-1, following up on Saturday defeating UC Davis 3-2, and Wyoming 3-1.
She led the team in kills during the tournament with 48 to go along with 40 digs, 4 assists, 3 blocks, and 1 service ace.Â
Cunningham had a double-double in all three matches posting 13 kills and10 digs vs Hampton, 19 kills and 11 digs, vs UC Davis, and 16 kills and 19 digs against Wyoming. The 19 kills against UC Davis was a season high.Â
The Bears and Cunningham return to action Thursday, opening up Big Sky play against Idaho at 7:00 p.m. at Butler-Hancock.Â
