GREELEY, Colo - Northern Colorado's Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance Megan Boone has been selected as part of the 2007-2008 NCAA Fellows Leadership Development Program. During the tenure of this program Boone will study under Northern Colorado Director of Athletics Jay Hinrichs, and will also be mentored by another Division I athletic director.

"I'm honored to be accepted into the program and looking forward to learning from the NCAA," Boone said. "I'm thankful for the support of President Kay Norton, Jay Hinrichs and [Senior Associate Athletic Director] Sherri Frye."

Boone will gain insight into the administrative decision-making process at the highest levels of intercollegiate athletics. She will also gain overall understanding of intercollegiate athletics and the impact of intercollegiate athletics within the organization.

"I will complete a project working with [Assistant Athletic Director of Marketing] Kyle Holman, surveying the groups attending home athletic events," Boone said of her project.

Boone will participate in retreats for all NCAA fellows. These retreats will include seminars led by national leaders on the latest theories and practices in athletics administration.

Special training will include areas of marketing, public relations, budgeting, booster relations, leadership training, compliance, fundraising, diversity training and management training.
