Northern Colorado Athletics Teams Busy Traveling This Weekend

GREELEY, Colo. - University of Northern Colorado student-athletes and support staff were busy traveling on Friday as teams prepare for weekend competition. In total, 127 student-athletes and support staff left on flights from Denver International Airport (DIA) to weekend locations.

The men's and women's cross country teams are competing at the Big Sky Conference Championships in Sacramento on Saturday (11 a.m. MT) while the football team is also in Sacramento playing against Sacramento State on Saturday night (7 p.m. MT). The Bears soccer team left on Friday for its final game of the season, Saturday against Northern Arizona in Flagstaff (8 p.m. MT).

The Bears volleyball team is also on the road, as they left Wednesday for a pair of matches in Montana. The volleyball team plays at Montana State on Saturday night (7 p.m. MT).

"It is always great to work with our airline partners Frontier and United to coordinate student-athlete team travel," said Beth Meagher, Northern Colorado Athletic Travel Coordinator for Cottonwood Travel Company, who was at DIA on Friday helping with the football team check-in. "We want to wish all the team's great success this weekend at their events and championships."
