GREELEY, Colo. - The University of Northern Colorado Department of Athletics honored over 100 student-athletes at its annual Scholar-Athlete Reception on Wednesday night at the Harrison Academic Center.

There were 120 student-athletes who were honored as Scholar-Athletes, meaning they had a 3.25 or better cumulative grade point average. That included nine who had a perfect 4.0 GPA, three of which came from the swimming & diving program.

The women's volleyball program had the most student-athletes honored, as 13 members of its roster had GPA's greater than 3.25.

Also awarded were the Dr. George Sage and Dr. Mary Behling Scholar-Athlete Awards, given to the graduating male and female student-athletes with the highest GPA's. Football's Reed Doughty was honored with the Sage Award, as the All-American on the field had a perfect 4.0 GPA in sport and exercise science. Soccer's Lindsey Phillips was awarded the Behling Award; she compiled a perfect 4.0 GPA in psychology.

Student-athletes who earned all-conference/all-independent academic honors and ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District/All-American honors were also recognized for their accomplishments.
